The Swedish vocal ensemble Vocado was founded in 2004 at Sjövik Folk High School in Dalarna, and today is one of the established and multiple award-winning groups in the a cappella world. During the formative early years the group explored singing in the style of famous Swedish A Capella groups such as The Real Group, Fjedur and Tamarind and the repertoire was diverse. After a while, the group started to find its own voice and style, and since then original compositions and elaborate arrangements by the group members have been a central part of Vocado’s repertoire.

Vocado has received several awards in various international competitions, such as “International A Cappella Contest” in Leipzig/Germany, ”International Contest for Vocal Ensembles” in Tampere/Finland or “Vokal Total” in Graz/Austria. In addition to regular performances in churches and at festivals in Sweden, tours have taken the sextet throughout most of Europe, and in 2012 even to South Korea. In January 2012, Vocado was named "Choir of the Year" by the Swedish Choral Association, with special mention of its broad repertoire and balanced sound.
2019 premiered the program "Songs for the Asking", in which Vocado takes the audience on a journey into the world of the American folk rock duo Simon & Garfunkel. In addition to popular hits, some of the perhaps lesser-known gems will also be heard, all in arrangements written especially for this program. Together with these American musical treasures, the first part of the evening will feature music from the artists' homeland, Swedish choral music, folk songs and their own compositions.
